Beas Kund is a high-altitude alpine lake which is situated at an altitude of 12772 feet in the Manali region of Himachal Pradesh. This lake is the origin of the Beas River, which is believed that the Sage Vyas used to take a bath while he meditated. Beas Kund trek starts from a little ahead of Solang Nallah, a popular destination among tourists for skiing and paragliding in Manali. The trail begins from Dhundi, which has mesmerizing meadows covered with the alpine flowers of mountains, and there are streams which you have to cross by removing your shoes, which soothes your feet perfectly. Here, our day starts with the drive to Dhundi which is the trailhead for this trek via Solang Nallah (another popular destination). The trek starts after a briefing session towards our first campsite i.e. Bakrathatch. The trail is easy no steep climb only a little ups and downhill route. There is one stream crossing where you guys have to remove your shoes to avoid getting wet. The beautiful meadows of Dhundi and Bakrathatch will leave you mesmerized. As you trek for 2 hours there are a few small streams which you have a cross to reach your final campsite. Never forget to see the spectacular view of majestic peaks visible from our campsite Deo Tibba peak (6,001 meters) and Indrasan (6,220 meters) and Seven Sisters in the background.
The cab will pick you from Manali Bus Stand in the morning at 8:00 AM. SUV cab costs 3,000 and will be shared by 6-7 trekkers. The transport charge is not included in the trek cost. It is to be split amongst trekkers and pay the driver directly.

After having breakfast we start trekking for Beas Kund. The trail is through boulders and rocks in summer and snow in winter. The initial stretch of the route is a little steep so be careful while climbing that part of the trail. After trekking for 4 hours, we will reach the beautiful Beas Kund Lake. It is also a base camp for some of the Expeditions like Friendship, Ladakhi and Shitidhar Peaks. After spending quality time and clicking lots of pictures, we return back to our campsite and overnight stay there.

Today we descend back to Dhundi by the same route which we used for coming up. Admiring the beauty one last time we reach Dhundi where our vehicle will be waiting for pick up. It will drop you on the Manali bus stand by evening. So, make your booking accordingly.

The best and most economical way to reach Manali is by road. Manali is very well-connected to the famous tourist destinations in Himachal, Chandigarh (310 km), Delhi (540 km), Ambala (370 km) and Dehradun (227 km) through state-run and private buses at a reasonable cost. During the long-distance journey to Manali, it is advisable to choose Volvo buses over ordinary buses, to ensure a more comfortable journey in the mountainous terrain.
Note:- The bus journey from Delhi to Manali takes 14 to 16 hrs for 550 km and it is advisable to book your tickets around 12- 02 pm in the noon to reach early in the morning for your treks and to avoid delays.
Manali does not have a railway station. Joginder Nagar Railway Station is the nearest railway station to Manali, but it is not connected to major cities of the country. So it’s not that convenient as compared to Chandigarh junction. The nearest major railway stations are Chandigarh (310 km) and Ambala (350 km), which is well connected with major cities like New Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Lucknow, Indore, Patna, Kolkata, Guwahati, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai, circuitously. From there you can take prepaid taxis which take 7 to 8 hours to reach Manali from Chandigarh and Ambala and 9 to 10 hours by public transport (Ordinary and Volvo Buses).
The nearest airport is at Bhuntar, located approximately 50 km away from Manali. Domestic flights connect Bhuntar with Delhi and Chandigarh. However, owing to weather conditions, flights are not the most reliable option for getting to Manali. Once you reach the airport, you can take prepaid taxis outside the airport, which can be availed to get transferred to the main town of Kullu and Manali (fare 600- 1000 approx.).
Chandigarh airport is also one of the nearest International airports to reach Manali. It only takes 7 to 8 hours to reach Manali from Chandigarh by taxi and 8 to 10 hours by public transport. The major airlines operating in this airport are IndiGo, AirAsia India, Jet Airways, Spice Jet, Air India, Go Air, and Vistara.

You can carry medicines prescribed by your doctor, if any. Although we have our First Aid kit with us on each trek, we suggest you carry some painkillers, Volini spray, kneecap, Electrals/ORS, etc.
Generally, people prefer Diamox for easy acclimatization, but we strictly avoid this kind of acclimatization. We encourage our trekkers to a natural acclimatization process. Hence you shouldn't be on the Diamox course before the start of the trek.
Drinking Alcohol or any other intoxication during the trek is strictly prohibited. Alcohol or this type of stuff dehydrates our body and at high altitudes, dehydration becomes a big cause of Altitude Sickness.
We have expert leaders who are experienced in First Aid on all our events but still, there might be situations under which an emergency evacuation might be needed. If this kind of situation arises, we are committed to making a safe evacuation for you in an emergency. Also, we will make all necessary & adequate arrangements for your evacuation to the nearest road head or hospital. The participant himself would pay any additional expenses incurred during the process. Our company will not be liable to pay for these expenses.
The maximum group size of our treks by any region is 15 participants. We focus on individual attention and the safety of our trekkers.
Yes, we do have our minimum group size as we require just 5 persons to depart. We had never cancelled or combined with other trekking companies any of our group of 5 persons from departure dates.
The toilet tents will be set up on each campsite. Inside the toilet tent, one pit hole would be digged with the help of a shovel, a heap of mud and one shovel kept beside the pit (it is used to spread the mud after you have done your business). Use it in Indian style.
