Bhrigu Lake is a sacred altitude lake situated at the height of 14,100 feet in Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh. It is located in the Manali region eastern side of the famous Rohtang Pass in Himachal Pradesh. So this trek is popular amongst all the trekkers visiting Manali. It is a complete package trek that offers fascinating natural vistas and breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains, lush green meadows and virgin forests. It starts with steep trails through virgin forest and lush green meadows, which opens up into the beautiful campsite of Rola Kholi, where you will see clouds floating because of soaring height. The view is completely mesmerizing. The Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas is visible from there with Deo Tibba, Hanuman Tibba and Seven Sisters peaks. It is believed the Lake is named after the famous Sage Maha Rishi Bhrigu, who used to meditate there, hence its a sacred Lake where many Gods of the Kullu have dipped every year in the holy water of the Lake.

Arrive in Manali at 10:00 hrs, then we will drive to Gulaba which is 24 km from Manali. The trek starts from Gulaba roadhead and treks to Gulaba meadows campsite which is 1 hour distance from the road head. The trail opens up into small meadows after reaching the campsite you will be served hot snacks & tea. In the evening we will go for a short acclimatization walk where can do photography and cherish the beautiful surroundings and the visible Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas.
The cab will pick you from Manali Bus Stand in the morning at 10:00 AM. SUV cab costs 3,500 and will be shared by 6-7 trekkers. The transport charge is not included in the trek cost. It is to be split amongst trekkers and pay the driver directly.

After having breakfast we start for our next campsite Rola Kholi which is at an altitude of 12,500 feet. The climb for today is steep, the initial trail is through Oak and Birch trees forest which later on opens up into meadows carry a minimum of 2 litres of a water bottle because there are water source which comes only when you are about to reach Rola Kholi. As you climb high you will see peaks Hanuman Tibba and little below Seven Sisters, laying in the Beas Kund Valley. After trekking for 3-4 hours, there comes the Kolang Nallah where cool breezes welcome you for your next campsite. Rola Kholi is surrounded by mountains with a stream flowing nearby which makes it the ideal campsite for camping.

Today we start a little early in the morning for Bhrigu Lake as the trail is long and steep. We start the trek by crossing the stream flowing near our campsite. As we climb high you will different landscapes and the trail changes its colour from green to brown and to white (in winter) which makes you more excited about the lake. In summer all the meadows are covered with tiny alpine flowers of different colours. You have to be more cautious today as the trail is through loose scree and slippery boulders the last stretch of the trek to Bhrigu Lake is a little difficult and steep. As you reach the lake, the view is breathtaking because of the frozen lake. After spending some time cherishing the beauty of the lake, we return back to the Rola Kholi campsite.

Today, we will trek back to our road head which is Gulaba, following the same trek route which will hardly take 3-4 hours, then drive back to Manali by 2-3 pm which can be delayed in peak summers due to heavy traffic on this road. So better if you make your booking late at night.

The best and most economical way to reach Manali is by road. Manali is very well-connected to the famous tourist destinations in Himachal, Chandigarh (310 km), Delhi (540 km), Ambala (370 km) and Dehradun (227 km) through state-run and private buses at a reasonable cost. During the long-distance journey to Manali, it is advisable to choose Volvo buses over ordinary buses, to ensure a more comfortable journey in the mountainous terrain.
Note:- The bus journey from Delhi to Manali takes 14 to 16 hrs for 550 km and it is advisable to book your tickets around 12- 02 pm in the noon to reach early in the morning for your treks and to avoid delays.
Manali does not have a railway station. Joginder Nagar Railway Station is the nearest railway station to Manali, but it is not connected to major cities of the country. So it’s not that convenient as compared to Chandigarh junction. The nearest major railway stations are Chandigarh (310 km) and Ambala (350 km), which is well connected with major cities like New Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Lucknow, Indore, Patna, Kolkata, Guwahati, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai, circuitously. From there you can take prepaid taxis which take 7 to 8 hours to reach Manali from Chandigarh and Ambala and 9 to 10 hours by public transport (Ordinary and Volvo Buses).
The nearest airport is at Bhuntar, located approximately 50 km away from Manali. Domestic flights connect Bhuntar with Delhi and Chandigarh. However, owing to weather conditions, flights are not the most reliable option for getting to Manali. Once you reach the airport, you can take prepaid taxis outside the airport, which can be availed to get transferred to the main town of Kullu and Manali (fare 600- 1000 approx.).
Chandigarh airport is also one of the nearest International airports to reach Manali. It only takes 7 to 8 hours to reach Manali from Chandigarh by taxi and 8 to 10 hours by public transport. The major airlines operating in this airport are IndiGo, AirAsia India, Jet Airways, Spice Jet, Air India, Go Air, and Vistara.

You can carry medicines prescribed by your doctor, if any. Although we have our First Aid kit with us on each trek, we suggest you carry some painkillers, Volini spray, kneecap, Electrals/ORS, etc.
Generally, people prefer Diamox for easy acclimatization, but we strictly avoid this kind of acclimatization. We encourage our trekkers to a natural acclimatization process. Hence you shouldn't be on the Diamox course before the start of the trek.
Drinking Alcohol or any other intoxication during the trek is strictly prohibited. Alcohol or this type of stuff dehydrates our body and at high altitudes, dehydration becomes a big cause of Altitude Sickness.
We have expert leaders who are experienced in First Aid on all our events but still, there might be situations under which an emergency evacuation might be needed. If this kind of situation arises, we are committed to making a safe evacuation for you in an emergency. Also, we will make all necessary & adequate arrangements for your evacuation to the nearest road head or hospital. The participant himself would pay any additional expenses incurred during the process. Our company will not be liable to pay for these expenses.
The maximum group size of our treks by any region is 15 participants. We focus on individual attention and the safety of our trekkers.
Yes, we do have our minimum group size as we require just 5 persons to depart. We had never cancelled or combined with other trekking companies any of our group of 5 persons from departure dates.
The toilet tents will be set up on each campsite. Inside the toilet tent, one pit hole would be digged with the help of a shovel, a heap of mud and one shovel kept beside the pit (it is used to spread the mud after you have done your business). Use it in Indian style.
