    Trip Description

Kang Yatse II Peak in the Ladakh region of India is located at the Markha Valley's head in the Himalayas. It is located in the Hemis National Park of Ladakh. The Kang Yatse Mountain has two main summits. The true eastern Summit is higher at 6,400 meters but requires an extremely technical traverse across a knife-edge ridge. The lower western Peak is easier and more frequently climbed, although lower at about 6250 meters. It is a perfect choice for experienced trekkers who want to try something endearing. Kang Yatse 2 is the best alternative Peak for Stok Kangri, famous for its charm for the 6000-meter Mountains in the Ladakh region. The trek route to Kang Yatse takes you through a beautiful and cultural trail of Markha Valley. The path passes through picturesque villages, White Stupas (religious shrines for local deities), Mani walls (stones marked with Buddhist prayers), old monasteries, ruined forts and welcoming tea/coffee stalls offering refreshment. You have to trek till the end of the Markha valley to a vast meadow called Nimaling. After that, you start climbing up towards the base camp of the Peak. The Summit rewards you with the Zanskar range's panoramic views, Karakoram peaks and mountains surrounding Kang Yatse. You might even notice the K2 Peak (the world's second-highest Peak). After your Summit, you will climb to Kongmaru La Pass, which is also a great height of 5280 meters and descend to Chokdo, the Summit trek's endpoint.

The Kang Yatse 2 best time to visit is the months of July to September because, during these months, you get perfect weather. Kang Yatse II temperature is 12 to 20 degrees Celsius during the sunny day and during nights, the temperatures drop up to 5 to -5 degrees Celsius.
