This renowned trek starts from the small remote Himalayan village of Tugasi near Joshimath in the Garhwal Himalayas. Kuari Pass, situated at an altitude of 12716 feet, is surrounded by Trishul, Kamet, Chaukhamba and the great divine peak of Nanda Devi and its twin Nanda Devi East. There are many more mountain peaks that make an equally imposing appearance – Dronagiri, Hathi Ghoda, Nanda Ghunti, Neelkanth and Mukut Parbat. The ride to Joshimath is a fascinating journey in which you come across various Prayags, namely Devprayag, Karnaprayag, Rudraprayag and Nandprayag. Confluences of several rivers are Alakananda & Bhagirathi, Pindar, Mandakini, Nandakini, Vishnu Ganga and Dhauli Ganga. We start our Kuari Pass trek journey from Rishikesh and reach Joshimath at an altitude of 6200 feet. The road to Joshimath will go through five Prayags, which have their own exciting stories, one of which is Rudraprayag, where Ganga and Bhagirathi meet. The drive will take around 10-11 hours, covering a distance of 250 km. You will cross many small towns and villages on the way and witness the region's beautiful scenery. Upon reaching Joshimath, you will get your overnight stay at a hotel/Guesthouse.
You can book transport from us, which will pick you up from Rishikesh Bus Stand at 6:00 AM. Bolero cab costs 8,000 and will be shared by 6-7 trekkers, and Tempo Traveller costs 12,000 and will be shared by 11-12 trekkers. The transport charge is not included in the trek cost. It is to be split amongst trekkers and pay the driver directly. Otherwise, you can easily reach Joshimath by road transport from Dehradun, Haridwar and Rishikesh.

You will start the Kuari Pass Trek second day by driving from Joshimath to Tugasi Village. The drive will take around 45 minutes to an hour. Upon reaching Tugasi Village, you will start your trek to the Gulling Top campsite. The trek to Gulling Top is 3.5 km long and takes around 2-3 hours to complete. It is an easy-level trek that offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and forests. You will pass through rhododendron and oak forests and cross a few small streams. The campsite at Gulling Top is located at an altitude of 9100 feet and offers stunning views of the mountains. You will spend the night at the camp, enjoying a delicious dinner and the beautiful views around you.

On the third day of Kuari Pass, you will leave Gulling Top campsite and trek to Tali forest camp. The trail is mostly through dense forests of oak and rhododendron trees. You will also pass through some beautiful meadows where you can spot various species of Himalayan birds.
As you approach Tali forest camp, you will be greeted with breathtaking views of the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. The campsite is located at 11050 feet and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. You will spend the night at the Tali forest campsite, where you can relax and rejuvenate after a day of trekking. Enjoy the peacefulness of the mountains and the beauty of the starry night sky.
Altitude: 12716 feet | Trek Distance: 11 KM | Trek Duration: 7-8 hours | Trail Grade: Moderate+
Today we will start trekking early in the morning from the Tali forest campsite to the Kuari Pass, which is located at an altitude of 12716 feet. The trail is steep and challenging, with a gradual ascent through the beautiful rhododendron and oak forests. As you climb higher, you will be able to see stunning views of the snow-capped peaks of Nanda Devi, Dronagiri, Kamet, and Trishul. Once you reach the Kuari Pass, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding Himalayan mountains. You can spend some time here taking in the beauty of the place before starting your descent back to Tali forest camp via Khullara. The return trek is also challenging, as it is mostly downhill and you must be careful while navigating the steep slopes. Once you reach Tali Forest camp, you can relax, enjoy a well-deserved dinner, and rest after a long day of trekking.

Today is the last day of camping. We will start trekking from Tali forest camp to Auli via Gurson Bugyal. The trek starts with a gradual descent through the Tali forest, and as you come out of the forest, you will be greeted with stunning views of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks. The trail then leads you to the beautiful Gurson Bugyal, a high-altitude meadow known for its panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. From Gurson Bugyal, the trail descends further and takes you to the ski resort town of Auli, located at an altitude of 9550 feet. Auli is known for its beautiful ski slopes and breathtaking views of the Himalayas. After reaching Auli, a vehicle will pick you up and drive you to Joshimath. In Joshimath, you can relax and explore the town before retiring for the night.
Note: If trail and weather conditions will be good and safe for trekking then only we will descend through Gurson Bugyal otherwise, we will descend through Gulling Top to Tugashi.

On the last day of the Kuari Pass Trek, you will be driven from Joshimath to Rishikesh. The drive is 250 km long and takes around 10-11 hours, depending on the traffic and road conditions. If you have booked the transport with us, Bolero/Tempo Traveler or a similar vehicle will pick you up from the hotel/guesthouse. The transport cost will depend on the type of vehicle you choose. Generally, a 6-7 seater vehicle such as a Sumo or Bolero costs around 8000 rupees, while a 10-11 seater vehicle such as a Tempo Traveller costs around 12000 rupees.
During the drive, you will see Uttarakhand's beauty through picturesque mountain landscapes. You can take breaks at scenic spots to stretch your legs and enjoy the views. Upon reaching Dehradun, you can continue your onward journey or stay in the city for a while and explore its many attractions. Make further bookings late in the evening or keep a margin of at least 2-3 hours.

Joshimath is a beautiful hill town in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India. It is well connected by roads to different cities and towns of Uttarakhand. The road to Joshimath will go through Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Chamoli. You can take a bus or shared cab or hire a taxi from Rishikesh, Haridwar, Dehradun, or other nearby towns. The distance between Dehradun and Joshimath is approximately 285 km, and it takes around 10-11 hours to reach by road, depending on traffic and road conditions. It's recommended to start your journey early in the morning to avoid traffic and reach Joshimath before nightfall.
Note: - The bus journey from Delhi to Dehradun/Rishikesh takes 6 to 7 hrs for 250 KM. It is advisable to book your tickets around 09-10 pm in the night to reach the early morning for your trek to avoid delays.
The nearest railway stations to Joshimath are Rishikesh and Dehradun, which are well-connected to all major cities of the country like New Delhi, Lucknow, Jaipur, Ajmer, Mumbai, Lucknow, Varanasi, Patna, Kolkata, Bangalore and Chennai circuitously. The railway station is located at the heart of the city, which is 3 km away from ISBT. Joshimath is approximately 251 km away from Rishikesh and 285 km from Dehradun. You can hire a taxi from the Bus Stand or take a bus to Joshimath.
The nearest airport to Joshimath is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, approximately 264 km away. Domestic flights connect Dehradun with Delhi, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kolkata. Once you reach the airport, you can take prepaid taxis outside the airport for Dehradun/Rishikesh and then continue the journey to Joshimath by road.

You can carry medicines prescribed by your doctor, if any. Although we have our First Aid kit with us on each trek, we suggest you carry some painkillers, Volini spray, kneecap, Electrals/ORS, etc.
Generally, people prefer Diamox for easy acclimatization, but we strictly avoid this kind of acclimatization. We encourage our trekkers to a natural acclimatization process. Hence you shouldn't be on the Diamox course before the start of the trek.
Drinking Alcohol or any other intoxication during the trek is strictly prohibited. Alcohol or this type of stuff dehydrates our body and at high altitudes, dehydration becomes a big cause of Altitude Sickness.
We have expert leaders who are experienced in First Aid on all our events but still, there might be situations under which an emergency evacuation might be needed. If this kind of situation arises, we are committed to making a safe evacuation for you in an emergency. Also, we will make all necessary & adequate arrangements for your evacuation to the nearest road head or hospital. The participant himself would pay any additional expenses incurred during the process. Our company will not be liable to pay for these expenses.
The maximum group size of our treks by any region is 15 participants. We focus on individual attention and the safety of our trekkers.
Yes, we do have our minimum group size as we require just 5 persons to depart. We had never cancelled or combined with other trekking companies any of our group of 5 persons from departure dates.
The toilet tents will be set up on each campsite. Inside the toilet tent, one pit hole would be digged with the help of a shovel, a heap of mud and one shovel kept beside the pit (it is used to spread the mud after you have done your business). Use it in Indian style.
