Ahhh, Dehradun City of love, and why wouldn't you call it that? It's just mesmerizing, the valley surrounded by beautiful mountains. We start our Pangarchulla journey from this valley and reach Joshimath at an altitude of 6200 feet. The road to Joshimath will go through via five prayags which has their own exciting stories, one of them being Rudraprayag, where Ganga and Bhagirathi meet; wow, what a beautiful sight it is. On the side of the road, keep your eyes to spot several popular tourist places.
You can book transport from us, which will pick you up from Dehradun Railway Station in the morning at 6:00 AM. Bolero cab costs 8,000 and will be shared by 6-7 trekkers, and Tempo Traveller costs 12,000 and will be shared by 11-12 trekkers. The transport charge is not included in the trek cost. It is to be split amongst trekkers and pay the driver directly. Otherwise, you can easily reach Joshimath by private taxis and cabs from Dehradun, Haridwar and Rishikesh. After arrival at Joshimath, you will get your overnight stay at a hotel/Guesthouse.

Mornings in Joshimath always carries a mixed bag of emotions as it has such a religious significance being Badrinath only 50 kilometres away, which is one of the major pilgrims and an adventurous vibe of treks and skiing in Auli, another beautiful place only 30 km from Joshimath. Still, we have to go above and beyond these places. In order to do that, the jeeps leave early morning for a village called Tugasi, and this is the actual starting point. Walking for few minutes on the road you start ascending towards homes and few shops on the upper sides and be aware because this is the last place where you can buy whatever you need cause afterwards it's just you and the mountains, my friend. As we move upward, one can see water streams that the villagers use for irrigation purposes. The hike to Gulling Top campsite is a steady incline up through the forest of big coniferous, pine and rhododendron trees. Fun fact you get delicious juice out of rhododendron flowers, another reason to come here huh, and after a long and tiring walk of almost 4 kilometres, you reach the Gulling campsite.

After breakfast, you start ascending to the next campsite called Khullara. The distance of Khullara from Gulling Top is 5 kilometres also a steady ascend which takes approx. 4-5 hours to reach there. You walk through forest trails which later upon opens into vast meadows; from here, the trekking distance left is almost one-third of it. The views you get during this Pangarchulla trek are truly spectacular of peaks Chaukhamba massifs in the far north, followed with Mana, Kamet, Abl Gamin, Hathi Gora Parvat, Nanda Ghunti and Trishul. In the middle sight, Changabang, the Drunagiri, and Kalanka Peaks are prominent. On reaching there, enjoy the view and beautiful campsite. The dinner will be served early, and you will be going to sleep early morning will start for the summit after midnight. Overnight stay at Khullara.

After early morning breakfast, you start ascending again for the ultimate Kuari Pass. Hold on Hold on just for the sake of people who are unaware of what is a pass it is basically the lowest point between two mountains which connects two different valleys Simple. So after 20 minutes of walking you get to enter the bugyals (meadows) yeah you heard it right, the most beautiful place is bugyal you will know when you’ll see one. And the walk again starts at the upper ridges almost after trekking 3 km you reach Kuari Top which is a mesmerizing site, but where is Kuari Pass so for all the people who hate ascending, good times are here fellow trekkers. Now we will descend approx 1 km to reach Kuari Pass already getting Goosebumps. And all the way back to the Khullara camp.

So after a short sleep at night, the wake-up call will be given at 2:00 AM, and after having breakfast and packed lunch with us, you aim straight for the glorious Pangarchulla peak. We start for the Pangarchulla summit at night. Yes, you heard right, my friend. At 3 o'clock, with our headlamps on under the starry sky, it all starts. After a few hours, you reach the moraines, which are also called the dead glacier, and it looks dead and terrifying. Crossing the moraines, we are at the camp of the Peak, and there is the ultimate rush for the Peak, and there is the ultimate rush for the most challenging part of the climb. As if the mountain is challenging you for the upfront battle. Weather changes like anything in a few seconds. The last leg of the climb is a steep and narrow ridge with a fall on both sides. A few kilometres and the amazing summit at the height of 15080 feet under you. After clicking some memorable pictures there, we return to our campsite. Since this day has a long trekking distance, there will be a cutoff time for the summit and our turnaround time would be noon.

After collecting memories of this gorgeous Pangarchulla Peak trek, we start our trek to Auli. Can it get any better, descending to Auli, the ultimate destination? We take a route here called Lord Curzon trail, which is one of the most remembering trails to be at. Imagine you are walking on Bugyal surrounded by snow-clad mountains all around for 7 hours straight, seems like a dream to me, and you end up at Auli from where you hop back in your jeeps and back to Joshimath in your hotel rooms. There you can take a warm bath after a long time.
Note: If trail and weather conditions will be good and safe for trekking then only we will descend through Gurson Bugyal otherwise, we will descend through Gulling Top to Tugashi.

Today is the last day of Pangarchulla Peak, which is the departure day when the trekkers need to return to Dehradun. Check out the hotel after breakfast. If you have booked the transport with us, Bolero/Tempo Traveler or a similar vehicle will pick you up from Joshimath and drop you in Dehradun by evening. The journey will take 10-11 hours to reach the drop point at Dehradun railway station. So, it's advisable to make your further bookings late in the evening or keep a margin of at least 2-3 hours.

Joshimath is a beautiful hill town in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India. It is well connected by roads to different cities and towns of Uttarakhand. The road to Joshimath will go through Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Chamoli. You can take a bus or shared cab or hire a taxi from Rishikesh, Haridwar, Dehradun, or other nearby towns. The distance between Dehradun and Joshimath is approximately 285 km, and it takes around 10-11 hours to reach by road, depending on traffic and road conditions. It's recommended to start your journey early in the morning to avoid traffic and reach Joshimath before nightfall.
Note: - The bus journey from Delhi to Dehradun/Rishikesh takes 6 to 7 hrs for 250 KM. It is advisable to book your tickets around 09-10 pm in the night to reach the early morning for your trek to avoid delays.
The nearest railway stations to Joshimath are Rishikesh and Dehradun, which are well-connected to all major cities of the country like New Delhi, Lucknow, Jaipur, Ajmer, Mumbai, Lucknow, Varanasi, Patna, Kolkata, Bangalore and Chennai circuitously. The railway station is located at the heart of the city, which is 3 km away from ISBT. Joshimath is approximately 251 km away from Rishikesh and 285 km from Dehradun. You can hire a taxi from the Bus Stand or take a bus to Joshimath.
The nearest airport to Joshimath is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, approximately 264 km away. Domestic flights connect Dehradun with Delhi, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kolkata. Once you reach the airport, you can take prepaid taxis outside the airport for Dehradun/Rishikesh and then continue the journey to Joshimath by road.

Pangarchulla trek is a moderate–difficulty level trek. It requires more strength and stamina than easy-moderate levels of treks. It is advised that you first gain experience in trekking above 3000 meters altitude and then move one level up with this trek. This is appropriate for seasoned trekkers. The summit is the most challenging and long day as you have to walk for 12 hours to summit peak, which requires excellent fitness.
The best time for the Pangarchulla trek is from March to April and October to December.

You can carry medicines prescribed by your doctor, if any. Although we have our First Aid kit with us on each trek, we suggest you carry some painkillers, Volini spray, kneecap, Electrals/ORS, etc.
Generally, people prefer Diamox for easy acclimatization, but we strictly avoid this kind of acclimatization. We encourage our trekkers to a natural acclimatization process. Hence you shouldn't be on the Diamox course before the start of the trek.
Drinking Alcohol or any other intoxication during the trek is strictly prohibited. Alcohol or this type of stuff dehydrates our body and at high altitudes, dehydration becomes a big cause of Altitude Sickness.
We have expert leaders who are experienced in First Aid on all our events but still, there might be situations under which an emergency evacuation might be needed. If this kind of situation arises, we are committed to making a safe evacuation for you in an emergency. Also, we will make all necessary & adequate arrangements for your evacuation to the nearest road head or hospital. The participant himself would pay any additional expenses incurred during the process. Our company will not be liable to pay for these expenses.
The maximum group size of our treks by any region is 15 participants. We focus on individual attention and the safety of our trekkers.
Yes, we do have our minimum group size as we require just 5 persons to depart. We had never cancelled or combined with other trekking companies any of our group of 5 persons from departure dates.
The toilet tents will be set up on each campsite. Inside the toilet tent, one pit hole would be digged with the help of a shovel, a heap of mud and one shovel kept beside the pit (it is used to spread the mud after you have done your business). Use it in Indian style.
